East China’s Jiangsu province recorded 6.45 billion yuan in retail sales during the May Day holiday, a year-on-year increase of 41.8% with the daily sales up by 12.9% compared with the same period of 2019.

“During last year"s May Day holiday, we recorded sales of 45 thousand to 50 thousand yuan. The sales of crayfish during this year"s May Day holiday reached between 120 thousand and 130 thousand yuan per day,” Ding Lei, the owner of a crayfish restaurant, told the reporter.

Night sales have become a new growth point for consumption during the May Day holiday. The Chinese Dinosaur Park in Changzhou is open for night tours during the holiday. The brightly lit and dreamlike float parade and the stage play "Alice"s Fantasy Journey" attracted many tourists to immerse themselves in the magical world.

Xuzhou launched the Yunlong Lake live performance "Pengcheng Fenghua", allowing tourists to experience the first immersive lake island live performance in China.
